Creating barcodes in..

Our Barcode Fonts include a Windows Encoding Utility aswell as add-ins for MS Access, Excel & Crystal Reports for creating barcodes within any of these applications. and an Active X DLL to build into your own applications.

Creating Barcodes using the DLL

  1. Locate the references menu on your application and Select the Fontware : Code 39 and make sure the tick box is checked, click on OK. Click OK and you can use our barcode functions.

Creating Barcodes Using the Excel Add-in

  1. To activate the Add-in select the Tools Menu.
  2. Click on Add-ins button, wait a moment until the Add-ins box is displayed.
  3. Select the Fontware : Code 39 and make sure the tick box is checked, click on OK.

Using the Microsoft Barcode Module to create barcodes

Run Microsoft Access, then load the barcode module located in the folder C:\Program Files\Fontware Barcodes\Code 39\Access

Highlight the Module named Code 39 Functions, click on File, Save as/Export - To external file or database, then select your database.

To enable the functions within your access database, make sure within the Module that the ActiveX DLL is selected. 

You can do this by double clicking on the Code 39 Functions module, select Tools menu the click on References, check the Fontware : Code 39 option.

Functions available

code_39 =code_39([data]) Standard Code 39,use this function with Standard and HR fonts.

Standard Code 39 with Modula 43 Check Digit.
Use this function with standard font only.
code_39MOD43hr =code_39MOD43HR([data]) Same as above but for use with HR version of the font

 

Creating Barcodes for Crystal Reports

Crystal Reports : Using the Barcode User Function Library (version 6 through to 9) 32BIT

Open an existing report in the Crystal Report Designer

On the Insert menu, click Formula Field


Click on New Formula Button and create a new formula with the name “mybarcode”.



From the Functions column, select Additional Functions and scroll down to the Functions labelled BarcodeC39.

Double click the function, eg  ”BarcodeC39” and insert a string database field or a string value.
